About Us
Northern Water Services co-founders, Spencer and Remington Martin, spent their childhood on a small vineyard in the far Northwest corner of Anderson Valley in Northern California. Remington started his career in the wine industry at the age of twelve, mowing rows for their grandfather, and spent the following twenty years completing his rotations in the vineyard, cellar, and facility maintenance. Spencer went on to study chemistry with the intention of fulfilling his duty in their long sought dream of owning a vineyard and winery, where Remington would farm and Spencer would make the wine.
Our Story
Not long before Northern Water Services was conceived, the Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirements for Wineries was adopted by the State Water Resource Control Board. Meanwhile Spencer was completing a harvest internship in the lab at the same winery Remington managed the winery wastewater ponds and associated discharge to land. Upon learning of the Winery Order, the two knew the industry was in need of services related to application guidance, technical report generation, plumbing, construction, monitoring and reporting, and more. It was decided that the combined experience of the two founders would enable them to provide exceptional monitoring, reporting, and treatment services, and so their journey began.
One year later Northern Water Services, LLC was founded. It's our first step towards a life of providing sustainable solutions to environmental issues such as water quality and availability. Currently we are approaching these issues by helping industries maintain compliance with laws designed by the state to preserve water resources, but we intend to expand our operations to all industries needing sustainable management.
